MicroBlog 0: An Introduction.
A microblog is a social media site to which a user makes short, frequent posts.
Welcome to my new MicroBlog!
At least once a month, I’m going to post short bits of whatever comes into my mind, never more than 200 words. It could be a micro-fiction story, a mini-blog, a random thought, an announcement, a nano, a foul-mouthed rant, or even just a quote.
Why call it a microblog? The idea came to me when I stumbled across the term. Technically everything we post on social media in tweets or FB posts is a microblog, but I thought I’d steal it for my own purposes.
Why so short? My reasoning is that people don’t have time to waste reading fifteen-to-twenty-minute blogs all the time, so instead, I’m going to post a short and sweet microblog that can be read on the toilet, in a queue, or at 2 am when you can’t sleep, basically anywhere.
The first official edition will be coming tomorrow in the form of a micro-fiction story. And yes, you’ve guessed it. It’s less than 150 words! (Oh, and this blog is only 197 words long - the system works!)
